National Incident Management System
Colonel Leo Burke
of the Michigan Wing of the Civil Air Patrol
How do we get military, government, industry, and private organizations all on one sheet of music when it comes to responding to disasters and incidents? Founded in 2004, The National Incident Management System (NIMS) guides all levels of government, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector to work together to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from incidents. NIMS provides stakeholders across the whole community with the shared vocabulary, systems and processes to successfully deliver the capabilities. NIMS defines how people and organizations work together during incidents. Colonel Leo Burke from the Michigan Wing of the Civil Air Patrol and their head of Emergency Services and others will join us to discuss how we coordinate efforts to serve our nation, state, and community. Whether we're looking at pandemics, derailed trains, fires, earthquakes, mass casualty events, and more . . . a dedicated coalition of experts stands by to provide a unity of effort and resources to serve YOU. Join us to learn how it happens and hear real life examples of NIMS in action.
